The decoration of the hostel was simply lovely, with beautiful colors and a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The general areas were spacious and well-maintained, providing ample space for relaxation and socializing. As a senior traveler, I greatly appreciated the hostel's accessibility. The facilities were clean and well-organized, making it easy for me to navigate around. The staff, especially the owner, were kind and helpful, catering to my needs and ensuring my comfort throughout my stay. It was truly a delightful experience.
If I could ask for one improvement, it would be for the children working there to be more mindful of the noise levels. The soundproofing between rooms and the corridor was not sufficient, and I found myself occasionally disturbed by the conversations and movements of other guests.

The shared bathroom was equipped with a great shower that had excellent water pressure and temperature control. It was like being under a waterfall - so refreshing!
Flat pillows.

Guests praised the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, with amenities such as shampoo, air conditioning, and a well-equipped kitchen. The owner's kindness and extensive knowledge of the area were appreciated, as they helped guests with bus tickets and provided useful information about local points of interest. The natural surroundings and views of Mount Fuji added to the overall enjoyable experience.
Some guests reported that noise from other rooms and the corridor was easily heard, which may affect sleep quality.

Pros of My Amazing Stay at a Jaw-Dropping Hostel: Mind-Blowing Design, Super Helpful Owner, and More!
Although I didn't have the chance to climb Mount Fuji on this visit, I'm already planning my next trip back to this amazing hostel. I cannot thank Machiko san enough for her kind hospitality, including the surprise Sake she graciously offered.

The owner was incredibly cool and chatted with us guests, making us feel right at home. The comfy and cozy vibe was on point. Want to borrow pillows, sheets, and blankets for just 150 yen extra? No prob! The free wifi was a lifesaver since my uni's wifi in Tokyo is snail-paced. And let me tell you, the interior is pure Japanese perfection - clean, organized, and practical. Plus, the tatami lounge area was perfect for bonding with fellow travelers. Machiko-san, the owner, was beyond hospitable and kept in touch with us throughout our stay. She even surprised us with a cute Fuji souvenir! The room was ideal for friends on a trip, and there's a building nearby with a jaw-dropping view of Mt. Fuji. Oh, and Machiko-san, you're the most friendly and accommodating person I've met in 5 years of living in Japan! This place has everything - old house, new interior, a communal area that screams cozy, and bunk beds long enough for even a tall person like me. And let's not forget the insanely reasonable price. No doubt, this is the ultimate spot to crash when exploring the Mt. Fuji area. I'll definitely be coming back for my next adventure!

We had an amazing romantic escape here! The beds were so comfortable and the hostel was really clean. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the train station and there was a convenience store on the way. We were lucky to have such a quiet stay and could sleep without earplugs. Plus, the owner was super nice and gave us helpful information and advice. We even got to enjoy a breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji from the nearby view deck. Absolutely loved it!
That the restaurants in the residential area closed early. But no worries, we could always grab some delicious food from the nearby convenience store.

The host, Machiko, was incredibly knowledgeable and helped me plan my hike up the mountain. She even provided me with bus schedules and insider tips. The hostel itself was spotlessly clean, and I loved the homemade bread and boiled eggs for breakfast. The community kitchen was well-equipped, and the beds were comfortable with convenient charging options. I highly recommend this hostel for anyone visiting the area.
I did get lost finding the hostel at first, as it's a bit off the main road. However, once I figured out the correct route, it was only a 10-minute walk from Gekkoji station.
